Cuando uno llega a Punta Llisera, realmente, no sabe a dónde mirar. Es tal el bombardeo de imágenes que se puede obtener desde los distintos ángulos y orientaciones que resulta imposible definir un punto o una vista en concreto como la mejor.
La Isla, Punta del Caballo, La Cala, El Castillo, las dos playas, un primer plano de la costa, del Rincón de Loix o la Bahía en su conjunto, todas son vistas espectaculares que definen distintos aspectos de Benidorm a dife- rentes escalas. Este motivo es el que inicialmente originó que planteáramos el proyecto como una secuencia de “miradores” con distintas orientaciones en lugar de un solo mirador. Entendemos el mirador como gene- rador de un espacio donde poder estar y contemplar. Creemos más en el concepto de PLAZA PUBLICA que de HITO MONUMENTAL.
El proyecto se ha basado también en una intervención mínima sobre el entorno. Somos conscientes de la importancia como reserva natural que tiene el Parque de Sierra Helada y hemos pretendido ubicar estos miradores, disponerlos suavemente sobre el terreno, intentando que el impacto sea el mínimo posible. Los miradores salen del terreno como unas plataformas naturales, dispuestas donde orográficamente era más favorable y buscando siempre las mejores orientaciones.
Este planteamiento de no intervención, ha originado que, tras un minucioso estudio de la topografía del terreno, pudiéramos interconectar los miradores situados a distintas alturas mediante rampas. Estas rampas, además de permitir la total accesibilidad a todos los miradores, sirven a su vez de espacios de contemplación, transformando parte de la contención del terreno en bancos desde donde observar el entorno y descansar.
Se ha planteado una propuesta contemporánea pero no excesivamente formalista ni deudora de un estilo o tendencia en concreto. Intentando por lo tanto generar una arquitectura que mantenga su vigencia con el paso del tiempo, ya que la innovación y la evolución forman parte de las señas de identidad de Benidorm.

When you arrive at Punta Llisera, really, you do not know where to look. Such is the bombardment of images that can be obtained from different angles and orientations, that it is impossible to define a particular point or view as the best one.
The Island, Punta del Caballo, La Cala, El Castillo, the two beaches, a close-up of the coast, the Rincón de Loix or the Bay as a whole, all are spectacular views that define different aspects of Benidorm at different scales. This is the reason why we initially proposed a sequence of «viewpoints» with different orientations instead of a single viewpoint. We understand the viewpoint as the generator of a space where we can stay and contemplate. We believe more in the concept of PUBLIC SQUARE than of MONUMENTAL MILESTONE.
The project has also been based on a minimal intervention on the environment. We are aware of the importance as a natural reserve that Sierra Helada Park has, and we have tried to arrange these viewpoints gently on the ground, trying to make the impact as low as possible. The viewpoints leave the land as natural platforms, arranged where orographically it was more favorable and always looking for the best orientations.
This approach of non-intervention has resulted in that, after a meticulous study of the topography of the land, we could interconnect the viewpoints located at different heights by means of ramps. These ramps, as wella as allowing total accessibility to all viewpoints, serve as contemplation spaces, transforming part of the containment of the terrain into benches from where to observe the environment and rest.
A contemporary proposal has been proposed but not excessively formalistic or indebted to a specific style or trend. Trying therefore to generate an architecture that maintains its validity with the passing of time, since innovation and evolution are part of the hallmarks of Benidorm.
